Emma Rees

Emma Rees

Founder: Deployed

Emma Rees, the founder of Deployed, aims to disrupt and liven up the arduous reality of "Statements of Work". She recognised there were severe inefficiencies and inaccuracies within these costly and time consuming documents. Issues that could be resolved by a data led platform that clarifies and defines the work to be delivered between clients and their consultants and professional contractors.

Deployed's aim is to bring big data, insights and automation into the statement of work process and nullify the laborious and tedious aspects of it. This gives them their other enormous advantage over the industry as they can provide valuable insights on how to improve work descriptions via an automated platform. Emma and her team are shaking up an outdated industry and in the process are saving money, refining efficiencies, improving outcomes and enabling better decision making.

Sophie Varlow

Sophie Varlow

Community Visionary: Co-Creating a Collaborative Communications Platform

Sophie Varlow is a visionary idealist pushing to transform our reality into her utopian idea by utilising the power of group collaboration. As new disruptive technologies generate ever more connections and communication methods the traditional power of communities wanes. Sophie Varlow and her team are unique because their platform aims to use disruptive tech to address this particular issue.

The commons platform is built on the principles of openness, trust, transparency and collaboration; they certainly back these values up! It is an open source decentralised social network for community organising, activism, resource-sharing, crowd-sourcing, open access research and data, independent media, ethical commerce and a new economy. Their view of the world is one in which people and living things co-operate and benefit rather than compete and damage.
